Today I found a very interesting encryption software which is able to encrypt files and folders without using password. Instead, it uses pictures or images as the key to perform encryption and decryption.

Very innovative! Using pictures or images as key might be a good idea because nowadays people have not one, but dozens of passwords. It can be hard to remember them, and you might lose precious data when you forget them.

Very interesting...if only this type of encryption could be applied to more factors.

I think this software is not all that safe. First of all, if you are gonna run it from your flash the picture you use to encrypt the files will have to be stored on the flash. If someone gets a hold of your flash, they can basically get all the information they need. All they have to do is locate the pic on the falsh.

I guess that is a potential prob.
CAn easily be bypassed though.


What I will say is that it certainly cant beat the simplicity of many other file encryption apps out there.

But what is less appealing about this software is - if the redering (encoding ) of the picture isnt IDENTICAL. it work work.

so - you cant just throw any BMP/GIFF/JPG/RIFF ect OF THE SAME PIC. and expect it to work.



Sounds pretty cool non the less.
