| Subject: Speed UP MOzilla Fire Fox Tue Nov 20, 2007 10:20 am | |
| Here's something for broadband people that will really speed Firefox up:
1.Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.
2. Alter the entries as follows:
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.
3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New- Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.
If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages MUCH faster now! Reply With Quote

| Subject: Stop XP Pro Password Expiration Tue Nov 20, 2007 10:43 am | |
| After you have run Windows XP for a while, you may receive this message when you log on: "Your password will expire in 14 days.....". This only applies to Windows XP Professional. XP Home does not use/set password expiration. By default, Windows XP is set up with passwords which will expire after 42 days. 14 days in advance, Windows will start warning you of this fact. If you do not want your passwords to expire:
Go to Start > Run and in the Open: box type control userpasswords2 Select the Advanced tab in the User Accounts window Press the Advanced button below the Advanced user management header Select Users in the Local Users and Groups In the right pane, right-click the user name for which you want to change the setting, and select Properties On the General tab, check Password never expires Click Apply and OK (all the way out)

| Subject: HOW TO RESTART WINDOWS WITHOUT RESTARTING YOUR COMPUTER Wed Nov 21, 2007 8:35 pm | |
| HEY EVERY ONE HERE IS ANOTHER SIMPLE HACK OR SHOULD I SAY TRICK THAT I THINK U MIGHT LIKE..
How to Restart Windows without restarting the Computer
When you click on the SHUTDOWN button, make sure to simultaneous press SHIFT Button. If you hold the Shift key down while clicking on SHUTDOWN button, you computer would restart without restarting the Computer. This is equivalent to term "HOT REBOOT".
make sure you are using fast switching for user. For those who don't know here is the method :
goto control panel>> doubleclick user account>> use accounts window opens>>> click on change the way user log and log off, there you will make the changes by marking the two boxes.
