I heard that rapidshare accounts are ripoffs and dont work and was advised never to get one. I dont know how true that is though.

Kinda sorta not really, ok tell you what the easiest way to get a premium account is to get a free account then let all your friends get a free account also, then upload a bunch of files to rapidshare and let people with rapidshare accounts download your files, the more they download the more points you'll get then you can convert/trade or whatever your free points in for a premium account.
