| I saw you at school today,
You looked at me and I looked away.
I walked to the band room,
Wishing that school would be over soon.
I saw you down there hanging with friends,
I just wanted my day to end.
I pretended to be happy so I didn't look sad,
But I think that you could tell I felt bad.
You then walked over and joined our group,
I'm just assuming you wanted to be in the loop.
We talked about our weekend
Until it came to me and then,
You gave me a hug, though I don't know why.
Either way I wanted to cry.
You don't know what it meant to me
It was like getting ice cream after getting stung by a bee.
I felt cared and filled with love,
And one day, I will return that hug.
And that's a promise.
