It's obvious which genre is better

Music is a reflection of the society in which it is in. Overall this is still comparing tangerines and oranges (they;re similar but still too different to be compared).

Rap music and culture is on a decline due to the massive amounts of money being generated. Thats why artists like Soulja Boy i s how he is.

Good Rappers:
Mos Def
Common Sense (yes he is a rapper)
Nas
Lupe Fiasco
Eminem

Good Dancehall Artists:
Assassin
Vybz Kartel
Busy Signal

But overall because of the educational and economic level of the United States makes rap music technically better. And you cant say dancehall attracts people all over the world because rap also attracts people all over the world. Dancehall is still an infant and is getting better though.

It also has not been proven that reggae is better then rap. And there are very few ways to look at what's "better" about each music, and thats the things which can be compared.

Things that can be compared are....fanbase, money generated, and record sales (same way the compare all other genres)

Rap definately has a way larger fanbase
Rap / Hip-Hop is also the most financially lucrative of all music genres
and finally Rap artist MC Hammer's "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em" is the highest selling rap album in history and has more sales then Bob Marley's Exodus (although records from developing countries isnt too accurate).

so rap beats reggae 2/3

Link you have to remember that US has one of the largest populations. Hence people are more likely to support their culture (unlike every 1 in 30 like blacknite). So you don't really have a point there

right. It doesnt matter who is listening. The fact still remains rap has more fans. Cultural support doesnt matter because cultural support is the same reason dancehall goes anywhere in the states.
