| The U.S. economy, as well as the world economy, is proving to be most resilient. This has persuaded most observers to expect moderate economic growth of 2 to 3 percent and a moderate inflation around 2 percent for years to come, while unemployment remains at a thirty year low.
With the value of the dollar shrinking, the housing market declining and lots of building debt from U.S. citizens what will happen? Is the media making a bigger deal of this that what will actually happen? What does this mean for the USA/world and if this happens can we bounce back?

Especially Jamaica. Although Audley Shaw says that rich americans will stop going to Europe and come to JA which is cheaper, most americans arent rich, and the ones who come here usually are middle class. Less money in their economy means less tourists to JA, so thats less cash for our vital industry. Also america is a big buyer of our exports, so less cash in the average america pocket means less demand for goods, so decline in exports. When america sneezes, the first world gets a cold, but Jamaica gets AIDS. USA: Decline in standard of living for everyone, inflation rates rising, economic reccession, welfare may get cancelled or lowered leading to higher crime rates in inner city communities, workers getting laid off, more unemployment...basically hell in USA.

That free trade agreement Pier Elliot Truedo signed with the americans a while back plays a major role in what america is going through right now. Because of canadas lower dollar most manufacturers picked up and moved to canada since production costs were lower. But that the dollar is up most manufacturers cannot afford to move back so canada will be getting the better side of the agreement for the next 10 - 20 years as long as the dollar remains where it is.
