Google’s shiny new Web browser managed to steal the march on the IT news press by announcing its forthcoming new browser. Google could be guaranteed to get lots of attention worldwide for its announcement. The free browser, called Chrome, is supposed to be available for downloading today in more than 100 countries for computers running on Windows. Versions for OSX and Linux are still being worked on.
"Chrome has more tools for Web surfers to cloak their online preferences" says Google. Having had a look at it there is not much difference between Chrome and all the other browsers out there and time will tell where its security holes are. Quite where this will leave Firefox – which ranks as the second most popular browser, and which has been dependent on Google support – is anyone’s guess. Google recently extended its advertising alliance with Firefox through 2011.
Google's web browser is said to be based on an older version of Mac's web browser "Safari".
Chrome has a # of security holes leaving it vulnerable to malicious hacker attacks also researcher have discovered a java bug that tricks Chrome into downloading files without the users knowledge and launching them.

i saw someone using chrome today and that started a discussion about it. that discussion lead me to the following conclusion:
fuck any problems it currently has, it'll be fixed soon enough. i'm getting chrome now.
i'd take quotes from said discussion but i was so blown away by chromes awesomeness and prettyness that i forgot everything and just decided on telling anyone willing to read my post that i'm getting it. AND if ever you decide to get it too you won't be disappointed.

baby girl i've used "chrome" for about a month and it's just the same as any other web browser. I can tweak a firefox or a opera so it looks and operate just like chrome, btw this thread so not made to "diss" chrome but to inform users of it's malfunctions

aha! you reminded me of something said during this discussion. yeah you could customize other browsers to look like chrome but with chrome you don't have to do anything. you just get it and like it and leave it like that forever cause it's perfectly fine the way it is. if i were to choose between customizing one browser to look like another OR just getting that other browser...i'd just get the other browser, in this case chrome.
oh no i never thought this thread was dissing chrome. i like to be informed.
